How I will work with you
The Blueberry Discovery Meeting
This is my opportunity to find out all about you and your family – your goals, your current situation, what your values are and what you want for your life.
I will you ask you to imagine you are financially secure and have enough money to take care of your needs now and in the future. What would you like to do with your life? What would you change, if anything? I will also ask you to consider what you would most like to achieve if you had a limited number of years ahead of you, or even, just today.
From this, we will think about what you have highlighted as being important to you and what we need to do to achieve those goals and how that fits with your finances.
As you might expect, I will need to ask you about your finances; any existing policies you have, savings, pensions, investments or protection, and look at how these fit into your overall plan. I’ll read the documents and annual statements so you don’t have to, and see what’s working for you and where your money could be doing better for you.
We will also start to discuss investment risk and what level of risk you would feel comfortable taking.
I will find out how you earn and spend your money because how do you know what you need for the future if you don’t know what you need now?
This meeting lasts approximately two hours.
The Blueberry Financial Planning Meeting
After our first meeting, I will go away and analyse the information you have given me. We will then meet again. This meeting is when I show you what my analysis has shown: I will illustrate how your money will support your goals and dreams if you continue as you are, not changing anything. I will answer your questions about whether you can afford to take the steps you want to take, and how long your money will last you.
I will then build your unique financial strategy, giving you recommendations on how to make your money work harder for you. I will take you through the various options available to you and show you how they affect your future so you can see exactly how to achieve your goals and how to make sure you never run out of money.
I will explain how your existing policies are supporting your plans, if they are doing it well enough or whether you could benefit from making any changes.
This meeting will last for approximately two hours.
Annual Progress Meetings
Our annual progress meetings are our chance to catch up and assess how much progress you are making towards your goals. These meetings are vitally important as life has a habit of changing. I will continue to check the progress of your financial plan with the changes in your life, making sure that we are continuing to work towards your goals, with all of the highs and lows along the way, adjusting your plan when it is needed.
These annual meetings last approximately two hours. You are, of course, welcome to contact me anytime in between our annual meetings to discuss any concerns you have, or any planned changes in your life. Sometimes life is changing very fast and you need me a lot, whereas other times a yearly meeting is enough, I am here for what you need.
