On Wednesday 18th March, Iβll be attending a rather special event at the House of Lords: Afternoon Tea β Sounds of a Planet Worth Protecting.
The event is being hosted by the Global Returns Project, with Lord Zac Goldsmith acting as host in his role on their advisory board.
It promises to be a fascinating afternoon. Alongside the traditional afternoon tea, the event will feature immersive audio storytelling about our planet from an award-winning sound designer and explorer, bringing to life the beauty and fragility of the natural world.
The event also marks an exciting milestone for the Global Returns Project. It is the final push in their campaign to raise Β£1 million by 31 March 2026 for a portfolio of high-impact environmental charities tackling some of the most urgent climate and biodiversity challenges.
Match Funding Opportunity
To help reach this goal, all donations made to the Global Returns Project before 21 March will be match funded, meaning every pound donated will effectively be doubled. https://globalreturnsproject.earth/contribute/
Itβs a great opportunity for anyone who cares about environmental protection to make their contribution go even further.
Why This Matters to Us
At Blueberry Financial, caring about the environment isnβt just something we talk about β itβs something we actively support.
This is our second year donating to the Global Returns Project, whose approach is refreshingly simple: encouraging people to commit a small percentage of their investment returns to the most effective environmental charities.
The Global Returns Project connects you directly to a portfolio of world-class climate and nature charities β selected and monitored by leading scientists β and shows you exactly what your support achieves. 100% of the money they raise goes to these charities.
Investing in the Future β In More Ways Than One
As financial planners, we spend a lot of time helping clients plan financially for the future.
But protecting the planet that future generations will live on is just as important.
Events like this are a reminder that even relatively small contributions, when combined with others, can make a meaningful difference.
Iβm looking forward to what should be an inspiring afternoon β and of course I will report back afterwards.
